After more than a year of praying and saving, we have a 'new-to-us' vehicle that allows Briana to sit straight! She has been sitting with her knees off to the side in our mini van (which was shorter than the typical mini van) a 1997 Chevy Venture. We now have plenty of room for the children to continue growing, as I expect Destry to soon be having the long leg problem. Ever since Doug and Jill graciously opened their home and lives to us while we were adopting Kiana, we have known we wanted an extended top conversion van "like theirs". And here it is! It's a 2002 Chevy Explorer, if that means anything to you, and has a mere 45,000 miles on it. What a blessing! Alan's been watching ebay for over a year, we've debated how far we were willing to drive to get one, but the price always went too high. But this beauty landed practically in our own backyard, and the original owner was the office manager and her husband where Alan works! How crazy is that?! It's just in time, too, as a good friend of Alan's is getting married in Ohio in May and has asked him to stand up with him. That was going to be a long drive in our 'tuna can' (as Alan called it! giggle). |
