| After saving for two years, we purchased the lumber, instructions, and various fun implements to build a play area. Easton calls it his 'park', and the name has stuck!
Alan and Destry spent several hours cutting lumber before we even got ready for assembly. (You can see Alan is training Destry to be a 'man of many talents' like he is.) At that point, Easton thought he should give them a hand.
I think he was in their way more than he was help, but he sure is cute!
It took all four of us (Alan, Briana, Destry and me) to lift this frame up when it was time to go vertical. We were all surprised at how tall it is!
At the end of the first Saturday, the main part was complete. The fort/tower has a steering wheel and telescope inside, your choice of a ladder or 'rock wall' to climb, and a fun, bumpy slide for exiting. There is also room for a sandbox underneath, and swinging rings on the back side.
Easton is glad to try out all the fun new things.
Now it has the swings off to the south side (not a great picture, but you can just imagine, I'm sure). It has 'big kid' swings and a 'baby swing' and being budgeted: the bronco swing (two seats facing one another). If I wasn't sure we will be spending a lot of time outside this summer before, I can guarantee it now!
Kiana has no fear about being that high and thinks Mommy should climb right up the ladder with her. |
