Setting: Mom and Dad's room, 6:30 am (Mommy and Daddy are dozing after the alarm buzzed. Easton enters, "kiki" (favorite blue blanket) trailing behind.) Easton: Hi Mommy! Mom (grunts): Hi Easton Easton: Get up, Mommy! Mom (barely resisting pulling the covers over her head, but still burrowing her face in the pillow, groans): Why? Easton (brightly): Be-tuz! It time to wake up! It bright out!! (Mom keeps her eyes tightly shut, covers pulled to the chin and refuses to move.) Easton (concerned and pleading voice): Why not? Why not get up? It morning! Let's go!!! Yes, I got up, with a little chuckle. Could he be any cuter?! A before picture as he's getting ready to knock down the tower, ornery look on his face. . . followed by crazy giggles as he knocks it down. What a great kid he is! He is just full of life and love and happiness. It just radiates out of him. Sometimes I just wish I could freeze time--surely this is the best time of my life! |
